Aeration

IMG_3398.JPG

What is it?

In simple terms, aeration is a technique of poking or punching holes into the soil to increase airflow into the root system to promote stronger growth. It also assists with drainage and provides a great start for lawn seed.

Why is it done?

During hotter months, lawns and the soil below can become compacted, which hinders airflow and drainage. With compaction comes poor environment for growth as the root system cannot grow deeper and get the nutrients they need. As a result, your grass will die off and bare patches can form.

Our self propelled Aerator has tines that will rotate and punch holes into the ground as it runs across the lawn. These holes will increase the airflow and reduce compaction occurring.

We offer aeration as part of our renovation package that is an important step to bringing your lawn to life. As and when this is required will depend on the lawn conditions but doing this at least once a year will be beneficial for your lawn.
