Scarification

IMG_3379.JPG

What is it?

The art of removing unwanted thatch and moss growth from your lawn to allow for healthy grass to grow, spread and thrive.

If the grass in your lawn is sharing its space with unwanted weeds and moss you can find unsightly and patchy areas that, left untreated, will increase and take over your lawn.

Is your lawn soft and spongy underfoot?

This is a sign that your lawn could do with some help. This soft feeling could be the result of moss growth and thatch sitting on top of the soil. Heavy thatch can prevent water being absorbed into the root system and reduce the chance of healthy grass being produced.

How is it done?

A scarifier has metal tines that work like a garden comb, pulling away moss, thatch and other debris that your lawn does not love. By having your lawn scarified once or twice a year, depending on conditions, this will open up the soil and increase water being absorbed into the root systems.

You won’t believe what this piece of kit finds lurking in your lawn. Your grass will definitely thank you for it!
